In about five minutes, your agent will have a standing job: work it does on schedule, without being asked twice. That’s an Agent Automation, and it’s the reason Cando exists. You’ll need a Cando account, so if you don’t have one, start with Sign in and onboarding. Onboarding takes three steps (your name, your agent’s name, your organization) and drops you on Home, where this guide picks up.
1

Describe the work

The composer on Home says “Ask anything or describe an automation”. Take it literally, and brief your agent like a new hire:
Plain English is the whole interface: say what should happen and when, and your agent works out the rest. If anything’s unclear, it asks.
2

Connect the app it needs

Your agent can only act in apps you’ve authorized, so when a job needs one it doesn’t have, it asks first. Approve the request, sign in to the app, and you’re back in the chat with the connection made.Connections belong to the agent, not to you personally: once Google Calendar is connected, every job this agent does can use it. Everything it can reach is listed under Connections.
3

Confirm the schedule

Your agent proposes the trigger it heard: every Monday at 8am, in your organization’s timezone. Adjust anything that isn’t right and confirm. This is where a chat becomes an Agent Automation. A chat happens once, but an Agent Automation has triggers, so from now on it starts itself.
4

Run it now

No need to wait for Monday. Open Agent Automations, find yours, and choose Run now.Every run produces a chat, so you can read exactly what your agent did, and reply there if you want something done differently next time.
5

Check Agent history

Agent Automations → Agent history lists every run: when it fired, whether it succeeded, and what it cost in credits. Whenever you’re wondering what your agent has been up to, the answer is here.

You now have a working agent

The same pattern covers most of what people build with Cando. A few more worth trying:
