Every Agent Automation starts as a plain-English brief. There are two ways to get one made, and they all end in the same place: a standing job on the Agent Automations screen.

Describe it in chat

The most natural route. Tell your agent the job, including when it should happen:
The agent creates the Agent Automation, proposes the triggers it heard, and asks about anything unclear. This is the route the Quickstart walks through.

Start from a Template or a chat

  • Templates on the Home screen are prewritten Agent Automations; picking one creates your own copy to edit
  • A chat that turned into recurring work can be promoted, keeping its context and sandbox

Writing a brief that works

The brief combines with your agent’s own instructions on every run, and the brief wins any conflict. Aim it like a delegation note:
  • Name the outcome, not the steps. “Send me the three most important emails” beats a procedure
  • Say where results go: a chat reply, a Slack message, a spreadsheet row
  • State the limits: “only leads from the last 24 hours”, “never email anyone externally”
After creating one, check its detail pane: the brief, its triggers, and next run are all there, and the schedule can be adjusted any time. See Scheduling.
