Channels are how people connect with your agent from the places they already work. A connection lets your agent act in an app; a channel lets a person talk to your agent from one. Same agent, same instructions, same connections; more front doors.

The channels

  • Slack: your agent in a Slack channel, answering when mentioned
  • Microsoft Teams: the same, for Teams
  • Email: your agent gets its own address, and email sent there becomes work
  • WhatsApp: message your agent like a contact
  • Hosted page: a standalone chat page on your agent’s own URL, for people who shouldn’t need a Cando login

How channels behave

The Channels screen lists each one for the active agent, with its status and setup. Channels are per agent, like connections: give your support agent an email address without giving one to your finance agent. Wherever the message comes from, the work is on the record: conversations through a channel are the agent’s chats like any others, and anything recurring the agent does still runs as an Agent Automation with its history intact.

Where to start

Put the agent where the questions already arrive. Teams that live in Slack should start with the Slack channel and mention the agent as they’d mention a colleague; businesses fielding customer email should start with the email address. The hosted page is the reach-anyone option: no Cando account needed, only the link.
