A chat is a conversation with an agent. It’s where you ask for things, where the agent shows its work, and where you steer. Every piece of work in Cando ends up readable as a chat.

Two origins

Every chat starts one of two ways, and the difference matters:
  • You started it. From the Home composer or New chat. These are yours, and they appear in the Recents list in the sidebar
  • A run produced it. Every run of an Agent Automation leaves a run chat: the record of that run’s work. Run chats never appear in Recents; you reach them from Agent history. One run, one chat, always
Both kinds are full conversations. You can open a run chat and reply to it, and the agent picks up with all of that run’s context.

Living with chats

  • A chat is born with your first message; there’s no create step
  • Chats get titled automatically, and you can rename or delete any of your own from the sidebar
  • Chats belong to an agent. Switch agents in the rail and you see that agent’s chats

From chat to Agent Automation

The best chats have a way of becoming recurring work. When that happens, promote the chat into an Agent Automation: it keeps the context you’ve built up, and gains triggers. See Turn a chat into an Agent Automation.
