Advisory hours let you bill your own time through Cando: you set the rate, the client approves each entry, and the money lands in your monthly payout with everything else.

Before you log

Set your hourly rate in Settings → Firm details. It applies to new entries from then on; changing it never reprices time you’ve already logged.

Log an entry

From a client’s Advisory Hours tab, choose Log hours and enter:
  • A short name for the work (“Initial onboarding”, “Discovery call”)
  • The hours, in decimals
  • A brief scope the client can read, so they know exactly what they’re approving
The entry’s value is calculated from your rate, shown before you submit.

Approval and payment

Every entry goes to the client before anything is charged. From there it moves through three statuses:
  1. Pending approval. The client can see the entry and its scope
  2. Awaiting payment. Approved, and billing to the client
  3. Paid. Charged to the client and accrued to your balance
A declined or withdrawn entry shows as Cancelled and stays in the list for the record. You keep the advisor share of every paid entry; the platform fee is on the Commission Schedule.

Where the money shows up

Paid entries appear on your Payouts page as Time lines, accrue like every other stream, and pay in the monthly run.
